I spent 15 December 2004 - 19 December 2004 in Edinburgh, a part-time leisure trip, also to participate in Edinburgh Malaysian Society's inaugural Malay Debating Competition.

My team consisted of myself (1st speaker), Imaan (2nd speaker) and Nasrul Ariff; whereas Edinburgh's team consisted of Fazil Hassan (who was in the MCKK PPM winning team of 1992 and 1993), Pakyat and Atiqah (a former UITM debater). Zhe Hui however proved to be an invaluable researcher to our team. We won but Fazil deservingly got best speaker.

Edinburgh was totally beautiful, but the weather was horrendous, as one would expect this time of the year.

The Malaysian Law Students Union in the UK (KPUM), had its AGM today at UCL.

I was the Secretary General back in 2002-2003, and later became Co-Director for the Law Convention 2003 at the UIA. Now I am a veteran member, I guess.

Quite a number of students came from Sheffield, Nottingham, Manchester, Queen Mary, King's, LSE and UCL.

During the elections, I, as the ex-oficio member, chaired the elections.

Congratulations to the superb work done by the 2003-2004 committee headed by the excellent Wan Mohd Firdaus, and also the directors for this year's successful (certainly better than in 2003!) Law Convention - Gene, Durra and Puteri.

Some pictures were taken by my King's junior, Ija.

Ikhwan and Izyan, my twin cousins had an open house at their flat in Marble Arch yesterday. Hanim (their sister) , Ahmad, Nik Yazmin, Akhari, Fuzz and (as usual) a bunch of KMYS juniors were there. Syed, Nizam and Helmi, who are staying at my place for the weekend were there as well.

Good food - tandoori, nasi lemak, pasta and soto (as far as I can remember).

The Nottingham Malaysian Games 2004 took place yesterday. It was my second time there, but more to spend time with friends. A lot of the KMYS students from my batch were absent though - as the games generally receives enthusiastic reception from the first years more than anyone else. Last year I played football for King's, but this year we didn't send a team (in any sport). Nottingham were the overall winners.

Some photos by Imaan and the famous Fakhrul Rozy.

Second day began with Malaysia Hall's open house at a primary school in Bayswater. Qisti, Byn, Zeff, Syed, Khairul and I made the way there at about 9.30 am. There were not so many people at first but soon the crowd grew.

Then went to Awanis, Asma and Sohasini's open house not far away.

Ended the day with a trip to Yas and Natrina's open house in Baker Street, where many of the Class of 2004 KMYS students were watching the Newcastle - Manchester Utd game.

It was a wonderful Raya this time around, being in the weekend and with friends (and especially of course, Imaan) being there. But as Byn said, it was very, very tiring.
